You’ll probably find he’s a yes man when he’s on the payroll. Or else they’ll pay him and ignore him, something along the lines of the Bacon report. This isn’t the first time the govt have paid for something and not taken the slightest bit of notice.

He’s one of the few people with a solid economics background that consistently warned about the crisis long before the bubble burst. Finally, they’re getting some decent economic advice. No more yes-men.

Ireland’s adjustment will be anything but swift. Of the countries you mention it is the only one intent on pussy-footing around the problem with piece-meal meaningless adjustments. Well be passing our second budget of the year in April. Again this only tackles what is already upon. What’s coming is dealt with by burying one’s head in the sand.
